Mosaddek Hossain Bio

Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, commonly known as Mosaddek Hossain, is a talented cricketer hailing from Bangladesh. Born on December 10, 1995, in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, Mosaddek comes from a family of cricketers and has quickly risen to prominence in the cricketing world.

Mosaddek first caught the attention of the Bangladeshi cricket fraternity during the 2013 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. Playing for Abahani Limited, he played a pivotal role in helping his team survive a disastrous campaign. Mosaddek’s consistent performances, which included a century and three fifties, made him a rising star in Bangladesh cricket.

In recognition of his talent, Mosaddek was selected for the Bangladesh Under-19 training camp ahead of the 2014 World Cup in the UAE. This opportunity to move up from age-group cricket proved to be a significant milestone in his development as a cricketer and set him on the path to success.

Making his first-class debut in the 2013-2014 season, Mosaddek faced a disappointing start to his career, scoring a pair against Khulna in Cox’s Bazar. However, he turned things around in the following season, showcasing his true potential by scoring impressive double hundreds – 250 and 282 – becoming the youngest Bangladeshi to achieve this feat. In 2015, he added another double-hundred to his name, which reflected his consistency and hunger for runs.

Mosaddek made his Twenty20 International debut in January 2016, but it was not a memorable outing against Zimbabwe. Despite this setback, he continued to excel in domestic cricket. During the 2016 Dhaka Premier League, playing for Abahani, Mosaddek played a crucial role in leading his team to victory. His exceptional performances in this tournament earned him praise from his captain Tamim Iqbal, who described him as having a “45-year-old brain” despite being just 20 years old at the time.

Though he remained on the fringes of the national team, Mosaddek’s hard work and consistent performances eventually paid off. In March 2017, he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in Colombo, playing his part in Bangladesh’s 100th Test match.

Mosaddek’s career has been filled with ups and downs, but he has shown immense resilience and determination to overcome challenges. With his batting skills and ability to finish games, he has become a valuable all-rounder for the Bangladesh cricket team.

As of now, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat continues to be a promising cricketer for Bangladesh. He has the potential to reach new heights and make significant contributions to the growth of cricket in his country. With his dedication and talent, he is undoubtedly a player to watch out for in the coming years.
