Aggressive Gayle is a Big Softie
Chris Gayle continued his domination of the Twenty20 game in the IPL this year. But during one outstanding display of strokeplay, a girl in the crowd, thought to be about 10, suffered a broken nose from one of his sixes in a 48-ball 81 against Pune Warriors. After the match, Gayle visited the girl in hospital to check on her and present her with his medal. He’s lovely really, isn’t he?
Royal Strugglers Bangalore?
Everyone knows Twenty20 cricket is all action, and yeah, okay, this was the end of the innings, but Royal Challengers Bangalore conspired to lose five wickets in six balls against Chennai Super Kings. Doug ‘The Rug’ Bollinger picked up a few of them – always good for a laugh.
Harshal Patel’s Slippery Delivery
Indian first-class cricketer Harshal Patel earned an IPL contract for Royal Challengers Bangalore for his impressive performances on the domestic stage, but he failed to cover himself in glory here. In what looks like a smooth run up round the wicket, Patel comes a cropper on a slippery crease.
