Club Cricket Insurance: Choosing Your Cover #4

Club Cricket Insurance: Choosing Your Cover #4

ExtraCover is the official Club Insurance Scheme of the ECB, designed specifically for cricket clubs.

The main threats in this area are vandalism and storms (which have caused such extensive damage to UK clubs in recent years), and protection can be extended to cover damage to your club’s assets – like the cricket square, non-turf pitches, netting and poles, sightscreens and covers. Or theft of cups and trophies – don’t forget the club kit bag.

There are plenty of clubs out there who suffer damage to their square or artificial pitches because of people lighting portable BBQs on it, usually right on a length! When it’s non-turf you very often need a whole new carpet. And they don’t come cheap.

ExtraCover also includes storm damage for property in the open – something rarely offered by competitors – and there are no limitations. If you are insured for the correct amount (and that, in itself, is important), you’ll get the full amount (minus the excess). Which is obviously exactly what you’re after.
