ExtraCover is the official Club Insurance Scheme of the ECB, designed specifically for cricket clubs.
We care about club cricket and we care about cricket clubs. Like it or not, there are few greater potential threats to a healthy recreational game than insufficient insurance cover – which can cause huge problems for the selfless individuals who keep the game thriving and even, in some cases, force clubs to fold.
Fortunately, there’s an easy way to make sure your club has exactly the cover it needs: ExtraCover, the official Club Insurance Scheme of the ECB, designed specifically for cricket clubs – from experienced, trusted insurance brokers Marshall Wooldridge.
REASONS FOR EXTRACOVER INSURANCE #1
Sorting your liability cover could be the most important thing your club does all year.
Public Liability insurance covers the legal liability of the club to pay compensation to members of the public where bodily injury or damage to their property is caused in connection with club activities. If a huge six flies through a neighbour’s window, or a passer-by gets hit by a wildly flung overthrow, the club is held responsible. Without Public Liability cover, a club could be forced to pay the full cost of any damages.
The liability cover offered by Extra Cover Insurance meets ‘Clubmark’ accreditation criteria with limits of public liability starting at £5m, with £10m also available. If your club plays in a public park, very often the local authorities will ask you to extend your cover to the £10m limit.
With ExtraCover, clubs also receive Employers’ Liability automatically along with their Public Liability cover. This is a particularly crucial element because it covers the lifeblood of clubs themselves: the volunteers. For example, if someone sustains an injury while working on the ground, this insurance protects the club & its members. Likewise for any bar staff, cleaners or general helpers, this is a legal requirement.
A great reason to opt for ExtraCover, the official Club Insurance Scheme of the ECB, designed solely for cricket clubs.
