Close friends of cricketer Tom Maynard are organising a memorial ball in honour of their friend who tragically passed away last year. The Tom Maynard Ball will be held at the Kia Oval on May 8 2013, with sports legends and those close to Tom expected to turn out for the event. Funds raised from the evening will be donated to the Tom Maynard Trust, which offers financial support to disadvantaged and aspiring young sportspeople.
One bright young talent will get the opportunity to receive a rare scholarship at Tom’s former school, Millfield, one of the most prestigious sporting schools in the world, whilst others will benefit from on-going support through the allocation of bursaries, help with training, kit and equipment or overseas placements through the Trust.
