AOC is back from the La Manga Club Twenty20 tournament, after a great few days in Spain for a sunny end-of-season tour.
Three cracking days of cricket, a few rounds of golf – all in 27-degree heat – as well as a fabulous charity dinner on Saturday night made up an enjoyable trip for all 10 teams involved. We’ll be reviewing this year’s competition in the magazine and here on the website over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled.
Our adopted side, experienced tourists The Ulster Grasshoppers, won all their games to reach the semi-final on Sunday morning, but had to spend their final afternoon quenching the pain of defeat by the swimming pool. It’s a hard life!
To enjoy a warm post-season outing with your team, where you can play good cricket in guaranteed sun, enjoy a world-famous luxury resort, and rub shoulders with the likes of Luke Wright, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Gareth Batty, Tom Maynard, Farokh Engineer, Simon Weston OBE and Sarah Botham at the gala dinner, keep an eye out on the La Manga Club website and here at AOC for more details of how to get involved in 2012.
Or, if you can’t wait until next year, there’s always the La Manga Club IV Charity Tournament from November 10-13. Another cracking weekend’s cricket, entertainment, and fundraising for The Lady Taverners. For more information, contact delphine.gauthier@lamangaclub.com.
