Become A First-Class Player At The CCM Academy

Fancy getting on the right path to first-class cricket? The Cricket Coach Master (CCM) Academy is not a bad place to start.

Having already produced five first-class cricketers, the CCM Academy knows about developing a batsman’s talent and helping you to achieve your maximum potential.

Beyond those players who have gone on to play county cricket, the CCM Academy has trained a number of age-group county representatives, academy prospects and regional players, which goes some way to demonstrating that Gary Palmer’s academy gives you a great chance to become a first-class cricketer who might one day aspire to international level.

At the CCM Academy you will be able to train with motivated and talented cricketers in a world-class programme which is also able to boast some of the country’s best coaches. Former Somerset and England youth player Palmer is head coach and guest coaches include former internationals Alan Wells and Richard Illingworth, as well as Glamorgan coach Toby Radford.

Technique is a hugely important part of what Palmer and the rest of the CCM Academy team will focus on – one of the aims is to help “construct the perfect batting technique” and “to make batting easier by teaching players to hit between mid-on and mid-off to the highest technical standards”.

The junior academy is open to 12-14-year-olds and the senior academy for 15-20-year-olds. The next intake for junior trials comes in November and December of this month, places are limited so don’t leave it too late.

For more information head to the academy’s website or for the opportunity to win one of two one-on-one coaching sessions follow the link to our competition.
